Double-Sided Blockout Flags

A standard flag is single-reverse: printed once, so the back is a mirror image. Your candidate name reads backwards to every driver approaching from the other direction, which on a two-way road is half of the people you paid to reach.

A double-sided flag is three layers. Two faces printed the right way round, and an opaque blockout liner between them so neither side ghosts through the other. Without that liner you get both images fighting each other and neither is legible.

It costs more and it is heavier, so it needs a little more wind to fly. On a busy two-way route it is still the cheapest correction available, because a mirrored name is not a small loss of legibility, it is a total one.

Is single-reverse the same as double-sided?

No, and the wording on cheap listings is deliberately slippery. Single-reverse is one print, so the back is a mirror image. Double-sided is two prints with an opaque liner between them. If the listing does not say blockout liner, it is single-reverse.

Will one side show through the other?

Not with a blockout liner, which is the whole point of it. Two faces sewn back to back without a liner produce a muddled image on both sides, which is worse than a mirrored one.
